Why do they need rooted phones and why is this not stated on the Gadgetbrdige website?
When will they get released?
I need to see then how good the tracking is
You can pre-order a Time 2 now and receive it early 2026 depending on your batch.
Website still says
Batch 3 - ships February
But yes, might be a little late too since it is still a WIP release.
But good thing is, almost all the pre-orders for the Pebble 2 Duo got delivered! ![]()
And the guy knows his stuff + trackers are anyway biased and imprecise by the nature of the hardware (itâs a wearable on your wrist and not a professional lab device on your chest/deeper), so the tracking should be good enough as a whole IMO. ![]()
The watch looks interesting but I dont want to wait this long
It is stated on their website I linked to you
Iâm not sure you have read it at this point, this is exactly why I said I donât think it would be an option to you if it needs to be convenient enough
Is this only for newer versions?
Couldnât someone just use them with a firmware prior to this change?
So the sleep data is synced accurately to Gadgetbridge?
Completely, everything works as expected.
Here is a screen shot of my sleep data entry for one day on gadget bridge
This mightâve aged poorly⌠lol
I have a PT2 on pre-order though. I wish I knew the P2D was a limited batch and maybe Iâd have ordered both, but whatever.
What do you mean? They do have some product around the thing but a good chunk can still be fully FOSS from what I saw. ![]()
Isnât it FOSS anymore?
Source?
I have heard that Garmin watches have good Gdget bridge compatibility
Somehwere inside this thread:
Would be good to provide an direct link to a comment but this should also be fine

No, I canât confirm this. For me Garmin Connect (the official Garmin app) wonât start without internet connection. However the garmin app is great for sleep and health tracking.
Oâve only briefly tried gadget bridge and didnât liked it. The sleeping time was also different in the gadget bridge app than on my watch itself.
The watch also stores the sleep data, so when I wake up Iâm using the watch to look up last nights sleep.
According to this person Gadget bridge shows different sleep values then the official app.
The official app is also not an option from a privacy standpoint because its requirring network permission
I would always take this with a grain of salt given that itâs probably sourcing that from potential marketing or obsolete reddit sources.
But go with it if you think itâs a good fit! ![]()
Yes, but I donât see why the Venu 3 should have an unfair advantage over other Garmin watches in terms of marketing strength or reddit posts.
And after trying to digging through so much information myself, I thought that it would also be good to ask AI for help in digesting the information.
Interestingly it also takes this thread as a source
Thatâs precisely the issue, the amount of reviews.
There is a YT channel that is specialized into health metrics on wearables, not sure if that guy made a video on the Venu 3.
But besides this, having 10 people saying the metrics are good is not a big enough amount of people.
10 reviews with 5 stars total score has quite less value than 3000 reviews with 4.5 stars total IMO.
