Also: Is portmaster a good FOSS firewall? I plan on using portmaster, a tool similar to o and o shutup, and the win11debloat script by rapphire on github.

Does it work better then o and o shutup? Would you recommend it > o and o?

Uhm, tbh im using “O&O ShutUp10++” because i dont want to change alot. And this tool is easy to use. But if you know what you want, you can try the scrips of “privacy.sexy”. (or the GUI version of this software) But be careful what software or Programs you’re using on your system. I only know this site as an FOSS alternative to o&o.

If you change to much on your system, maybe other software will break. in worst case you need to re-install your Operating System again. On o&o you see some “recommendations” behind each setting you can change. Soo… its up to you what you want to use. I cant tell which one is better for you.

TL;DR:
Advanced user can use this website. But if you dont really know what to change, you can stay with o&o.

I don’t know if I would reccommend any of these things as I think users are far to willing to make registry and policy changes to their system without fully understanding them but…

seem to be popular ones.

You could also use something like revo or geek uninstaller to get rid of most of the bloat without having make deeper changes to your system.

I’ve been using privacy.sexy for quite some time, and it works great. there are tons of repos on github if you search for windows hardening, windows debloat, etc. Techlore recommended HotCakeX’s repo for hardening/securing windows
