Crime prevention, making sure people in the car are not planning anything scary, and if they do, send the information right to LE.
Insurance pricing, if driver loves talking risky stuffs, send the info to insurance companies for more accurate insurance pricing.
There is definitely nothing to do with surveillance capitalism and mass surveillance.
And if you have done nothing wrong, you shouldn’t be worried about this cause it could protect you!

It’s so they can catch white people singing the N-word in rap songs.
But more seriously, it is crazy how privacy invasive vehicles have become. I recall Mozilla had that great company review page to grade the “creepiness” of privacy policies. Car makers were usually the worst.
