Cryptomator is an interesting example. It’s fully open source under GPL, but they charge a one off fee for mobile clients. Despite it being GPL, there aren’t any reproduced builds in repos I have seen where it’s available for free.
I think that’s actually pretty cool. Open source projects always have this issue of monetisation. How has Cryptomator managed to do this, when others have failed? Any other good examples of a FLOSS project that monetises well?
