Exporting TOTP Bitwarden

Is there a way to export TOPT from Bitwarden and then importing it to Aegis for example?

Yes, Aegis supports importing from an unencrypted Bitwarden export/backup file.

Thanks for the reply. I did a backup of Bitwarden around 6 months ago but you can only backup the whole content. So how do you only export TOTP and or how do you only import TOTP without doing it one by one?

I haven’t tested it, but can you not just import the entire backup/export file into Aegis? I presume it will pick out the TOTP codes from there.

I never tried it. I will have to do that! I will let you know when I will do it. Thanks!

Hold on… Mmmmmm right. The whole data in Aegis. I am not sure if I want to take that risk. I will think about it. Thanks!

To be clear, Aegis only stores TOTP seeds so it won’t store the rest of your Bitwarden data but yes, you will need to have the unencrypted export file on your device and Aegis will have to parse it. The alternative would be manually entering the TOTP seeds into Aegis but that may be tedious depending on how many you have.

Exactly. It is just that I don’t know if I want Aegis to see all of my passwords, user names and other data…

You could delete all that info from Bitwarden and then export your data? Or just manually copy over the TOTP seeds one at a time, whichever is quicker.

thanks for the suggestion but that will be way to long. Still not sure what I will do…

Uh, the Aegis application has no network connectivity. Check the application permissions. Just the Camera is needed to scan QR codes. Aegis only has 10 fields for each entry.

If this does work, it’ll probably pull over your entry Name and User Name in addition to the TOTP secret.

Good to know that! Thanks a lot!

Still have to move an unencrypted file with very sensitive contents to import it… Ahhhhhh! Don’t know…
