We’re talking about removing a recommendation that no longer works.

Correct, unless someone else can provide proof that it works, I think I’ll put in a PR that removes it entirely.

I can’t see to find any evidence Home edition actually supports full disk encryption with Bitlocker in any way whatsoever, even on the Microsoft site.
