That portion should probably be moved to a comprehensive windows guide, which would accommodate full screenshots better if there is in fact a way to also do this with the GUI.
I’ve tried to do this on my machine, and frankly I’m at the point where I think we should remove that instruction entirely. None of the protectors work for me on Home.
You’re much better off just upgrading to Windows 11 Pro Edition man. It’s not a lot to pay and it’ll save you headaches in the future.
EDIT:
Buy the Pro version from the official Microsoft Store. Don’t take a risk with these cd key websites!
“It’s not a lot to pay and it’ll save you headaches in the future”
how rich are you if it’s not a lot to pay?I see 200 $ price on microsoft site but maybe i’m wrong.
anyway OP just pirate enterprise version, ignore “security’ advice. Check it twice though.
I double checked:
Since he has the Windows 11 Home edition he can just get the Pro upgrade and not have to worry about piracy concerns.
That’s not the point.
We’re talking about removing a recommendation that no longer works.
Correct, unless someone else can provide proof that it works, I think I’ll put in a PR that removes it entirely.
I can’t see to find any evidence Home edition actually supports full disk encryption with Bitlocker in any way whatsoever, even on the Microsoft site.
Just upgrade to Windows Pro, that’s what I did to use Bitlocker.
You can get a cheep Windows 11 activation key on StackSocial for $9.97 (Black Friday Sale). I have used StackSocial for software activation keys and never had a problem.
Be careful with these super cheap deals! I know of many users who have bought one of these ultra cheap keys only to find themselves locked out of their Windows PC a few months/years down the track… Not worth it!
