interesting timing when I was getting into matrix. but honestly i’m not seeing it bcome available in even providers like https://etke.cc anytime soon.
I really need to look more into Matrix. Getting me more hooked by the day as a good Discord replacement. 
I meanwhile wonder how relevant are the bridges for Signal, Discord etc because you kinda lose the whole benefit of E2EE (and maybe even privacy? Idk yet 
) and it becomes some sort of Beeper.

Also can confirm it’s really good, I’ve even contacted the support for demo concerns and a question for the bridges, they answered promptly and fast
(It’s also part of why I’m thinking of making a guide for bridging to other messengers but I think it won’t be favored by the community and besides that I have not deployed this in the real word yet)

Nobody self-host those things bare metal by hand nowadays. 
No I really mean the option to self host or appear not how long it takes
Etke is literally just, you pay 2 people a monthly fee based on what you choose to host and they handle it for you, unless you choose to take control of the server
I think that Nikita and Slavi can definitely narrow that one down quite quickly if there are already close to the Matrix community. 
And yes, it’s nice to have people providing such a service of maintenance for others. Good business model with a fair amount of work for the provider and good service for the consumer.
