Does an airport scanner detect loose SD card?

If I take some photos with a phone that I don’t want airport security to see, put them on a SD card and take it out of the phone, will it be detected?

I don’t stand out so my risk of being targeted with an extra search is small, this is about the routine search.

I live in the U.S. and this is about airports here.

The SD card will be detected, any data on it will not be unless they physically request it from you.

You can deny giving any passwords, but it would be safer to put them on a cloud service.
