Buy Code services with crypto?

Is it somehow possible to anonymously buy coding services and pay with crypto without revealing your identity?

With code services I mean either paying someone to write code, or pay someone to audit code another person has written.

Would be good if there I’d an escrow mechanism in place.

Monero (XMR) is an anonymous crypto. Since neither buyer nor purchaser can be known, it has been delisted from several crypto exchanges, given it conflicts with US ‘know your customer’ (KYC) laws. Essentially, Monero is no different than digital cash, since cash can be spent the exact same way.

As far as markets for purchasing Monero, XmrBazaar.com could be useful. XMRBazaar uses escrow, although not all sellers do and those are easy enough to avoid. Or, you can trade other crypto for Monero in p2p markets using an app like Bisq. So for instance, if you purchased bitcoin at Fidelity, you can later trade it for Monero using Bisq. Although you are identified as the bitcoin purchaser with Fidelity, once it is traded for Monero, it becomes untraceable. Bisq has several safeguards in place to cover transactions. Check the ‘Is Bisq Safe?’ section of the Bisq wiki.

I have no idea where to buy coding services in exchange for Monero.

monero.jobs.

If I was looking to commission someone I’d prolly find work I like on GitHub and then reach out to them.

xmrbazaar has mediators with escrow so you could make a listing and then do it through them.

I probably would instantly get banned if I make any crypto related offers with an over Tor registered account.

And apart from that, what to do about the scamming problem?

Do they have escrow and/or a rating system for clients and providers?

Once you find someone, direct them to a multisig escrow offer you make on xmrbazaar like this: https://xmrbazaar.com/listing/Tzhu/

or just find a trustworthy person.

There’s no dms on github so you wouldn’t actually need to make an account, just find their contact info like email in their github profile. There’s tons of developers having trouble finding jobs or just want the experience.

I will say with an AI coding harness you can audit and make stuff easily if it’s not mission critical.

This person paid for audits on their software with Monero https://github.com/du82/nonograph#audits

But what prevent them from you telling you that they have audited the code, without actually reading it?

So they would read the code and tell if it’s a virus?

Do you mean this?

10/15/2025 - Security Assessment Report Redacted.pdf - audit of the initial release (v0.0.1), paid for in Monero. Only the auditors name and email were redacted. Fixed in this and this commit.
