Hi everyone, I’m planning to travel to China. What is a good email provider to use in China for activities such as booking hotels, trains, and other travel-related tasks?

Just create a throwaway email on Proton Mail or Tuta Mail that you use specifically for your trip, SimpleLogin or AnonAddy aliases are fine too. This isn’t specific to China but travel generally though.

To add another thought, if you’re only traveling as a tourist, then I don’t really see the need to risk bringing potential attention to yourself if you’re using highly private, secure, and encrypted tools while in China. VPNs are rather hit and miss, I would look into getting a travel eSIM as they use roaming and bypass the internet filtering in China. You should use the VPN with the travel eSIM though, as the networks they use can be sketchy. More info: Travel eSIM in China: VPN Myths & Great Firewall Explained

To add to that, OP could get Mullvad VPN and request them for a serveroverride for a location that has free and open internet so you won’t be blocked while you’re using one of their obfuscation options they offer. This is literally one of the reasons they have this option.
