Investors are disappointed at the late rollout of Apple Intelligence; however, Apple is betting that a combination of local processing and the cloud-based Private Cloud Compute feature can help separate itself from the competition.

Notably, Apple still allows the vast majority of Apple Intelligence features to run locally.

TLDR; Most Apple Intelligence features work well offline. However, this is more of a marketing strategy at best. You’re much better off not using AI if possible but that may be hard to avoid in the future.
