Any cheap SMS rental services out there?

I am trying to use a dating app that requires SMS verification to sign up. The catch is that this service demands an SMS check every single time I log in, so a one-time burner number just won’t cut it. I need something I can actually rent long-term.

In my country, there is a carrier that sells eSIMs for about 5 USD a year that can send and receive SMS (though they do require KYC). Does anyone know of an SMS rental service cheaper than that? Alternatively, if there is a roaming eSIM available in Japan that can receive SMS, that would work too.

The country code of the phone number really doesn’t matter to me.

I saw Naiomi Brockwell say that some services you can use SMS on sign up and then they’ll let you switch your phone number to a non-sms service. Idek any good non-sms solutions tho.

I think jmp.chat would work. It’s 5 dollars a month and accepts Monero.
