It activates a flag which is supposed do that in the future. Right now there is no meaningful site isolation.

I use Fennec and IronFox for select sites (like this one) because they are the only two that I know of that support webpush notifications without Google play services.
I disagree with “uBlock Origin is the only extension you should use.” I like to use uMatrix in addition to uBlock for granular control over third party content and scripts for instance. uBlock mainly relies with blacklists, which means it is engaged in a cat and mouse game against advertisers and trackers, while uMatrix is basically a network firewall with a configurable default policy that can be as strict as you want.
That being said, only widely used FOSS extensions are acceptable in my book.

Yep, if uMatrix was still maintained, I’d totally recommend it for advanced users.
Nothing comes close to it, it was fantastic, and still has the best UI of them all.
