Alternatives to Toggl Track (time-tracking software)

As a freelancer, it’s important that I keep track of time spent on specific tasks. Right now I’ve just been using MacOS’ built-in Clock app, but a more dedicated app would be nice.

I don’t need anything intense—no website blocking, key logging, activity tracking, AI, etc.

I like the polish of Toggl, but have no need for most of its features and the permissions are a nonstarter.

Cattr (https://cattr.app/) seems promising, but figured I’d reach out on here to see what else is out there.

I tried ActivityWatch but it felt more for tracking your personal habits rather than tracking work.

I don’t have any Mac suggestions for you @osoberry unfortunately but I’ve been using Time Tracker (https://flathub.org/en/apps/com.lynnmichaelmartin.TimeTracker) for Gnome. It’s dead simple and just works.
