As 2025 continues to be a threatening year for privacy in the western world, I wondered if we could get a little more organized on taking action.
What do we think about adding a category or tag for calls to action? I’m thinking about specific things like taking collective action against Chat Control, or the latest campaign to Keep Android Open?
When we act individually it can have an effect, but it’s when we worked collectively that we stand a chance and stopping increased government surveillance. If we can make it easy for everyone to find the ways they can take action for substantive and timely issues, we can increase the effectiveness of these campaigns. We can always make a new topic, but having a way to highlight it or receive notifications for it can contribute to a movement that spreads calls to action faster.
Maybe having a category or a tag isn’t exactly the way to do it, but I would like to have a way to more easily see the opportunities for activism in our community and movement.
