Hello,
To connect to the internet from my home (in France), I only have a TP-Link 4G router (Archer MR600 model). How can I improve its security besides checking for updates?
My smartphone and computer also have a VPN.
Thank you for your valuable advice.
TP link fiemwares are known for being sloppy (if not malicious), see if it supports other firmware.
Meanwhile, you might want to disable as much features as possible, such as built in SMB, telnet, SSH, upnp, respond to external ping, DDNS, port porwarding, etc.
Thanks @TinFoilHat
It seems a bit complicated. The UPnP port is already closed. As for the rest, I don’t see anything in the settings that’s called that…
Not every router offers these features, these are just some examples for you to look into. Simply put, disable all non-essential features and services.
