Why does Brave Browser get a free pass?

Web GL is randomised on my cromite and UC browsers which both use different extensions toward the same objective. Not sure I can do any more than that. I don’t use GOS as it has too many dependencies on the big G for my liking as we have begun to find out recently.

I would be suprised if Brave didn’t randomise it. Do you have proof either way?

What do you use instead?

TBH I have never installed Brave so can’t say for sure but I imagine, being based on Chromium, you can customise it any way you want. The thing is that installing UC gives you a blank sheet of paper which you can then customise without having to uninstall anything. End result is that you end up knowing exactly what you’ve got under the hood and that it’s 100% FOSS.

I degoogled back during COVID times with an XA2 running SFOS and another Sony I used as a spoofing phone. I have an XA2 Ultra with iode on it too and an Xperia 5 I recently bought to put Droidian on. Once you get out of the google trap life becomes much simpler. I get everything I need from web apps and the rest is provided from FOSS repositories. If a supplier/service provider doesn’t support FOSS, I find one that does. If there isn’t one I go back to old skool getarounds, It really is as simple as that. If you can’t adopt old skool fixes you are way too dependent upon tech’.

The biggest problem for MicroG users is that they are locked in to the google ecosystem because of their dependency on big tech, I’m talking Facebook, Instagram, Wotsapp etc etc, which is where the spoofing phone came in handy, but 5 years on I hardly ever need to use it and the reason for that is it’s only the fact that your dependency on it, keeps you locked in to it.

A friend of mine who is a tech dumbass whinged at me after receiving my departure email cos he didn’t even know that alternatives were available. Now he’s telling me that he is spending more time on Telegram than he is on wotsapp. Go figure!

I’ve been using Brave for Android for several years. This last year, every single time I search on Brave Search, I get a Captcha. Every time! Every query. AND, sometimes when I back out of a site. Try to get a resolution to that from Brave!

However, I started using different search engines and I’d alternate them and it stopped. That says a lot right there. I do like Brave but I also think they’re pulling shady stuff and I have no tolerance for anything but transparency. I’m definitely going to look around and perhaps look into Cromite. This data harvesting is so out of control and it makes you have to work twice as hard to prevent it!
