What to Do with EOL Devices?

Hi

My crypto wallet will soon reach EOL. Or my robot vacuum will only receive updates and security fixes for a very short time. What should I do when the device reaches EOL? I’ve already blocked internet access on OpenWrt. But to be absolutely sure, do I need to buy a new device? How do you handle this?

When those reach EoL it’s probably a good idea to replace them. You should check on the OEM website to see what you should do in terms of disposing of the old devices.

I wouldn’t stop using a robot vacuum because it’s eol. It’s probably not meaningfully more secure at any point in its life and offline is the way to go. There’s https://valetudo.cloud/ if your vacuum supports it.
