Interesting, is this a mirror of the Github repo?
Because the āVerified Appsā app opens Github when reporting an unknown Appā¦

Yes, check the settings.
You can also check the github submissions to see there are codeberg tagged issues.
There is also the original post in the forum announcing the database that links to it.
You can also see on codeberg the owner of the repo is Privacy Guides with another repo of the main website and the description is:
Mirror of GitHub - privacyguides/privacyguides.org: Protect your data against global mass surveillance programs. Ā· GitHub - Protect your data against global mass surveillance programs. https://privacyguides.org

Obtainium has added direct support for Verified Apps.
In the latest release (currently marked as pre-release), I have replaced AppVerifier with āVerified Appsā from Privacy Guides as that seemed like the best option to me. AppVerifier and AppVerifierBG will also be detected and will trigger the share sheet, but the UI and āAboutā link go to āVerified Appsā

>The plan is to remove the internal database once Accrescent is open and has more apps. Users can always source the hashes and manually verify. It's easy to share verification info and it can be shared to AppVerifier as well to conveniently verify with others.

>Hi. The internal database won't be accepting new entries. It will eventually be removed once Accrescent is stable. This is because maintaining and adding new entries to the database is too difficult. Developers publishing apps on secure app stores like Accrescent is the solution.

AppVerifier can verify from hashes shared directly to it so long as the package ⦠name is also included. **See screenshot below taken from AppVerifier after sharing just the hash alone:**

Currently in Obtainium, long pressing the hash will copy just the hash to clipboard, so the user must find the app in AppVerifier to verify from clipboard. Adding a button (or maybe just short/double tap the hash itself) that copies both the package name _and_ hash to clipboard would allow users to then share directly to AppVerifier (or any fork of their choice).
