Speculation is that he was fired because he didn’t defend Trump admin during Senate hearing on the Signal chat, saying that “any advance warning is something we want to protect”.

Guess it’s good for us that less competent people are now in charge of Intel agencies

I consider this a double edged sword, incompetency may result in overreach, or for doing political favors for the POTUS.

For sure, but I don’t see how the spying can get worse than it already is.

That being said, the risk of cybersecurity incidents, including leaks could be higher. But a massive breach of US NSA database while devastating, will at least show the risk that massive espionnage poses.
