Techlore: Google Is Closing Android. 37 Organizations Are Fighting Back

We need to keep fighting for what we want - freedom. It’s long been taken for granted and hence the apathy we see now. I feel we should change that with more activism on such issues.

It is a bit ironic, that the site itself comes with all Google trackers you expect from the “modern web”.

Not everything is perfect in the world. Hypocrisy is ubiquitous. It’s just how it is.

Yeah, for sure. Healthy pragmatism about privacy is needed nowadays.

UBO and block third party frames and scripts.

Not sure where you saw that.

From what I can see on the frontend:

  • there are no trackers of any sort, no cookie and nothing invasive as a whole, checks all the boxes as stated in the footer Privacy: This site uses no cookies and performs no user tracking or logging.
  • uses a healthy tech stack to keep things simple yet functional/fast
  • moreover, there are no stupid client-side scripts as seen here
  • it is SSG-hosted on Github, which is not the most evil platform if you want to go with something with unlimited bandwidth and for the free (without paying for a VPS)

Please do not have unjustified claims when somebody does a good job by assuming they’re evil. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I think they were referring to the change.org website

I think you got something wrong. This was about second mentioned site, not about keepandroidopen.org

Indeed, I do not see Condor’s messages so I guess I missed that you quoted them and not OP, my bad. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
