I’m aware of the current partnership between these two companies. Is this really a private setup?
I’m also reading that to take advantage of this, I’ll need to subscribe to Mullvad from within Tailscale. Is it not possible to link an existing Mullvad subscription with a Tailscale account?
I don’t think what they have qualifies as a partnership necessarily, at least how I see it.
But whatever it is you’re trying to do, I’d suggest buying it separately.

It does seem like it require subscribing to mullvad through them, can’t use existing separately bought mullvad account. I actually appreciate their honesty in the Data privacy and anonymity section there.
I’m using it, but I’m not sure that I’ll maintain it.
I already use Mullvad via their own apps. I sometimes, infrequently need to switch over to TailScale for network tasks and wanted VPN coverage for my outbound / WAN tasks while I do this so I purchased it to try it out. But I don’t think I use it frequently enough to justify it.
I don’t trust TailScale enough to leave it running 24/7 and route all of my network traffic through it.
Marginally related question: Does the Mullvad exit node support IPv4 and IPv6 like their apps and config files?
