Suggest list of additional information on why Privacy Matters

I would like to suggest to add these list to the main page. To emphasize why we NEED to care about our privacy. Privacy is not just about power. It is a Human Right.

List of things why privacy matters.

  • Privacy gives us the the space we need to flourish as human beings.
  • Privacy allows us to read, learn, express ourselves without worrying on who might be watching.
  • Privacy gives us the ability to experiment, play, fail without the mistakes of our past haunting us forever.
  • Privacy allows us to place trust in others.
  • Without privacy we cannot function as a society and as individuals.

This is very inconcrete sorry.

This is already on the home page Privacy Guides: Independent Privacy & Security Resources linking to the article i sent. If you have ideas on how to imrpove that it may be helpful.

I’d add something along the lines where privacy isn’t necessarily about “you”. It’s something needed as a society.

By conserving your intellectual property as an individual and not being influenced by outside forces (like targeted ads on social medias or other platforms), democracy is strengthened by countering targeted disinformation. Disinformation would still exist, but at least it wouldn’t be targeted.
