Separate VPN Servers and VPN Clients

I am going to mark this thread as rejected. I am not against a generic VPN client section being added to our recommendations, where we could recommend—for example—the generic WireGuard client perhaps.

However, I don’t think we should evaluate VPN clients that are developed and distributed by VPN server providers separately from the providers themselves, which I think is what this thread is suggesting. If we are concerned about Proton’s client we should resolve the original conversation in Remove ProtonVPN - #160 by jonah instead of this.

Thank you for the suggestion, but if I understand the suggested change correctly then I would concur with this “fragmentation” problem:

:+1: There are a lot of reasons you’d want to use the first-party clients, and I don’t want to have to recommend VPN clients in a hypothetical VPN client section that only work with certain providers, which is the situation this suggestion would create.
