Samsung Forced to Halt Data Collection in TVs in Texas Without “Express Consent”

Attorney General of Texas Ken Paxton secured an agreement with Samsung that “will ensure Samsung no longer collects Automated Content Recognition (“ACR”) data without consumers being fully informed and consenting prior to any information being collected.”

With all that conservatives like to boast about independence and what not - only if they were more involved and knowledgeable about the privacy, cybersecurity, and privacy tech space as an antidote to all that big tech is about (which they do seem to hate enough).

Pretty sure they would revolt harder than everyone else because they see any small infraction on their freedoms as a significantly larger issue.
