I’m not sure that It fits in general category so im putting it in off topic just in case. I also share 2 videos so I can’t really put both titles both ways so im just giving it my own.
(recommended since retro game corps actually goes through a littel researched about privacy concerns and encourages you to take a closer look for yourself if you can)
(This one is more of a analysis on more than lighter games using GameHub)
Yes, it’s that same Android/AOSP that runs GrapheneOS and LineageOS or whatever you can think of.
Long story short both GameNative and GameHub have made PC gaming (steam at this time) possible and more accessible, and this is before the steam frame even releases!
GameHub is made by the same company who makes controller Gamesir which ngl as an owner of the GameSir G8 Galileo I geniunely think their controllers is decent. However despite being the best one over the GameNative it has privacy concerns, requires an account (just an email and password so mitigated by alias) and being a chinese company, obviously the data collection is questionable or rather the protection of data (by china law if asked by the government they have to hand it out they cant refuse). and in Retro Corps’s video the asking of nearby devices and location is questionable, I would like to believe it’s for the controller but I also believe they dont need these permissions, if hopefully you can deny those and still run GameHub, great! And of course for your steam account if you’re gonna use any of these services, perform security checks, make sure you have proper 2FA on that’s protecting your steam account before logging in, and besides valve has historically been very very decent at recovering accounts in the event of a hack (and even targets the attacker for you and asks you to yeet them in the digital existence or whatever, haha jk, unless, anyways, it is a reccuring meme and im guessing because of how good it is)
GameNative does not have the issue of being a chinese company and privacy concerns and functions similarly but doesn’t perform the best, hopefully GameNative sees GameHub as competition and catches up to it.
Now of course it is advised against running demanding games that can overheat the phone if you dont have at least a gaming phone, if you dont, stick to lighter titles than Triple A if you will (my recent favorite one is Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash, but it can be hollow knight silksong for example I suppose)
Man I do in fact regret getting the iPhone as an entertainment on a monthly payment split. Remember when I said that I would get a phone like Redmagic if that happens? Well soon and I shall see what im gonna do with the iPhone.
Overall this is nice but I would like to see either valve put their own spin (maybe after the steam frame) over these 2, but it is a step towards that.
