Today I put Qubes to a usb stick. I did it thru Graphene OS over a vpn and torrented. I etched it on to the usb stick and used it. Never I mentioned to anyone, anywhere about any of these or even hint at it. Snapchat is installed in a work profile and only has network permission. Just now, I got a video about Qubes on Snapchat. I never got anything similar or even about tech before on Snapchat. How can they know?
Qubes is popular among privacy conscious people, the ads could just have been targeted to the generally pro-privacy population rather than qubes users specifically. Besides, there’d be no reason to advertise qubes to someone already using it.
