Qualcomm vs Mediatek on stock Android?

Is one considered a better choice than the other in terms of security?

Yes, Qualcomm is a better choice.

I think it matters less. Both can send out firmware updates, but if the device manufacturer doesnt push out a patch for whatever reason, you are still at risk.

It matters a lot, Qualcomm cares about their security posture, MediaTek doesn’t care at all.

Can i ask another related question - i heard that qualcomm processors receive updates for around 3 years. Do OEMS release their devices with newer qualcomm chips so they can still receive updates. For example if i buy a Motorola device with 3 years of security updates will the Qualcomm chip inside also get 3 years of updates or if it is older it will stop receiving updates at some point before android updates go end of life?

And is there a website where i can check if a Qualcomm chip still receives updates?

Thanks
