Push notifications on iOS - enable or disable?

The privacy guide doesn’t cover this.

After the news that the government was using push notifications to spy on citizens (link below), nobody (or at least I didn’t see anybody) attempt to explain how that exploit really works, how to differentiate between local and remote push notifications, and what settings we should use on our devices.

If you have an iOS device, are you walking around with all notifications disabled or enabled?

It’s not a duplicate topic–you guys got nowhere on that original thread.

Curious case of an actual, documented security threat and nothing being done about it. I even wrote to Signal about the problem and got a big wall of silence.
