After seeing their popular Loupe app for informing people about app fingerprinting, I decided to try their browser.
It’s a paid browser (USD: 60/year / 8 month) that is supposed to prevent fingerprinting and has built in proxies.
Unfortunately fingerprint.com detected the browser as having been tampered with, being a bot, and as a VPN. This gives a suspect score of over 30, which will likely decrease usability on the thousands of sites using fingerprint.com.
It would be one thing if it caused users to be blocked from websites because of this, like Tor Browser if it fulfilled effective anti-fingerprinting, but it does not.
I had the same ID across two containers with different proxies.
I do not recommend this browser, it seems expensive and not effective, although I like the idea.
Someone should make a privacy focused, identity segmented browser like Donut Browser, but with more of a focus on privacy. That would be a great contribution to the privacy of web browsing.
