ProtonVPN: Site Blocking Is an Attack on Users’ Online Freedom * TorrentFreak

As reported last week, sports rightsholders Canal+ and LFP requested blocking injunctions that would require popular VPNs to start blocking pirate sites and services.

According to the Swiss company, the request sacrifices online freedom for corporate interests. Instead of going after intermediaries, Canal+ and LFP should target pirate services directly.

“This case is unprecedented in Western societies and represents a dangerous attack on internet freedom on the altar of corporate greed,” ProtonVPN says.

a company calls corporations greedy.

It’s not a problem in this case, just something I didnt think I would have in my 2025 Bingo.

also if companies really want us not to pirate:
a. Bring back the DVD/CD days, BD maybe without the DRM bullcrap.
b. We need competition in the streaming service that doesnt try to squeeze every penny possible and blocks sharing if the profiles slot will so allow. (I’m especially looking at the anime streaming industry) and also no show is region restricted outside of necessary legal jurisdiction of each country.

But no, they gotta do the exact some opposite, and they’re crying about why we’re pirating.
Well here’s why:
