A group of friends and associates are looking to try and set up an independent and secure platform to discuss things like political organizing. We use Proton and Signal, but those platforms don’t offer much in the way of organizing discussions and managing projects. I am thinking something like Slack or Wrike etc. but I am concerned that these might not provide the level of privacy we are hoping for due to their commercial nature. We are not talking about anything outside of legality, but want a space where things can be discussed securely, especially considering the current landscape. This Privacy Guides site is a pretty great example of one structural option. Please let me know what options might be available. Thanks!
The only ones I can think of are Matrix and Zulip. If you self host, Zulip has better features. Matrix has better encryption support if you don’t want to self host.
There aren’t any 1:1 replacement for discord or slack that are also as easy to use, at least right now.
You can setup Mattermost on your own servers.
Thank you!
Much appreciated!
