Opinions on Blazed Cloud

I recently discovered Blazed Cloud (https://blazedcloud.com/), and they seem to offer a partially free, open source (here is their GitHub repo: GitHub - TheRedSpy15/blazedcloud: Mobile client for minimalistic cloud hosting provider, Blazed Cloud), and encrypted cloud drive.

I haven’t used them yet, but if it were true it would be a nice alternative and addition to the other encrypted clouds already discussed here. Their app is on F-Droid (Blazed Cloud - Encrypted Storage | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository) and their privacy policy (readable on their website) is rather strict. But we know well that the road to hell is often paved with good intentions.

Sadly, the site seems rather sketchy --especially the login page–, and the company (Chance Software LLC) is based in Virginia, USA, not the best place for privacy products.

Does anyone have more info on them? Has anyone used them?

My opinion? Here you go:

  • site: quite simple, with xxl sized UI, not much textx, eye-catching animations (quite shady),
  • space: 15GB free, only one tier (1TB) and only monthly payment? Why not yearly payment and why not multiple storage tiers (1, 2, 3 TB for example)?
  • extremely slow upload speed
