A welcome change for people who use google.com directly without an adblocker (so like 90% of people on android due to google chrome market share). This probably won’t stop them from tracking your searches but nice nonetheless.
Wow, so they finally realized their search was garbage now and between the ads and SEO abuse, entirely unusable?
I’m guessing they think sponsored results will be rendered obsolete anyways, once they start selling subtle ads directly embedded in their Gemini AI overviews in search.

This headline is misleading at best. Ads aren´t going anywhere. They just allow you to hide them manually.
