Hi
When i connect to this server and search for “my location” in google, google shows my real location and in the bottom of google’s search, it says my real location name.
using any other server, this doesn’t happen.
i sent this in mullvad’s reddit but reddit’s new account spam policy removed my post. do you guys think i should send a email to mullvad support or just ignore it and use other servers?
You are probably missing something here.
Mullvad cannot influence the location of Google. It is very possible that some device used that IP in your area while having Bluetooth, WiFi, or GPS location services enabled and thus the IP is currently linked to your location.
Because I use VPNs sometimes I also get voice overs on YouTube in all kinds of unknown languages while the servers are here innmy country.
Mullvad will not be able to help you with that.
We could recommend to disable location services on devices using this VPN but please mind that a VPN will not make you anonymous.
Also you will be better of changing to a privacy friendly search engine.
