Do anyone know if Mic-lock works in vehicles? AUX and USB-C I often drive many different new cars, trucks and buses at my work, I already block webcams and it would be nice if I also could block the microphone in them.
I don’t think most vehicles have external microphone inputs for something like to work.
You might have to consider something like an ultrasonic microphone jammer, but I’m not sure about their legality especially if other people are around or if you could potentially interfere with hearing aids or something.
It’s definitely something you’d have to do more research into depending on your specific situation.
most of those jammers are pretty vulnerable and it is to be seen (or heard I guess ) how well they actually work: A Resilience Evaluation Framework on Ultrasonic Microphone Jammers | IEEE Journals & Magazine | IEEE Xplore
A mic lock only would work if someone does not control the OS but then how do they have access to your mic? It might mitigate something potentially but it is far more likely that at that point they can use whatever mic available.
Okay I bought a few different ones for testing maybe they works if not I can add them to my trusted by CIA™ meme collection.
I know a few people that I wouldn’t mind jamming their earbuds but sadly ghostbuster tech is illegal where I live.
No idea, I haven’t really looked at what data the different car manufacturers/big tech collect. I just perfer them not having a recording of me if my car decides kissing a tree or something.
