First, I’m trying to explain this as simple as possible.
In Mailbox.org, I create my master email account and four aliases. I then open up Thunderbird and create PGP keys for each email address (Master and aliases). I go back to Mailbox.org, activate Guard, and go to the setting to encrypt my inbox.
-
Do I enter all of my public keys for each email address (master and aliases) or just the master account email public PGP key to encrypt the inbox on Mailbox.org?
-
Usually all incoming email from the aliases route through the inbox, then gets sorted out using rules. If the inbox on Mailbox.org is encrypted with only the master email public PGP key, then I assume all incoming emails from aliases will be encrypted as well when it hits the inbox. Correct?
-
Now on to Thunderbird. How would I retrieve my email from Mailbox.org and decrypt them if all of my email addresses on Thunderbird have their own PGP keys?
So only two choices exist. I would have to upload all of my public keys to encrypt the inbox (Not sure if this is possible) or have only the master email account public key to encrypt the inbox on Mailbox.org. If it’s the latter, then I’m assuming when I download my email to Thunderbird, only the master email account can decrypt using my private key but what happens to the email from the aliases with their own PGP keys?
If I set up all of my aliases with their own PGP keys, then would the incoming email from the aliases hit the inbox on Mailbox.org, get encrypted using just the master email public key, then when downloaded in Thunderbird each email address (aliases) would get decrypted with their own private key?
***I know how to setup and use PGP but I’m not sure how this would work using Mailbox.org encrypted inbox with aliases.
