Considering the fact that VPNs don’t provide anonymity, what you’re saying is incorrect.
You don’t get even that, so why bother with an “anonymous” account if creating one is impossible when you’re using a VPN?
Why bother with anything privacy related then? By that logic, all of our lives on this forum make no sense.

I don’t understand why Proton has pretty bad packages available.
They should sell different packages with lifetime or atleast longer subscription. Why only Pass would be lifetime? Free Pass vs paid Pass is way more less difference than in other apps. I have used free Pass and I could go easily with that only. Paid benefits are nice but not that I would pay 200€ lifetime just for that.
I have 2-year VPN deal with 2,5€ per month. That is great VPN and I would likely go lifetime with that, but surprisingly there is just 2-year deal.
Now I consider Unlimited but there are couple of friends and family that would like the product too.
So Duo or Family would be at mix too. Sadly only Unlimited for my self is avalable with 24-month sub and it would be 8€/month. Duo is 15€/month with only 12- month sub so there is only 1€/month benefit with Duo against single Unlimited and there is 500GB vs 2TB space difference (1 TB per user).
Family would be 23€/month but that is 12-month sub too. It would be great to get couple of Euros less per month with 2-year sub.
With Duo you get 1 TB storage per user and with Family only 500 GB whitch is pretty odd. Althougt these storages are combined so one can use 1 TB and someone 100 GB for example but 3 TB combined. With atleast 3 users, the family deal is good against Unlimited. Maybe good too if there would be two who needs Unlimited and four who uses one or two services.
Still there is absolutely no sense that only Pass will get lifetime-deal and not Unlimited, Family, Mail or VPN. Atleast Mail and VPN are same caliber services with around same price than Pass so definately there should be longer deals.
But yeah, after all Proton is great company and I will move from VPN to Unlimited pretty soon.
Althought I use just VPN and Pass every day. Calender and Drive are not needed with better alternatives. 500GB space would still be usable with music etc. Still wondering if I should just hunt those fkn 2-year deals with cheap VPN like 2 or 2,5€/month and Pass with some deal too.
Benefit of Unlimited is that there could be more apps in the future. I cant really see the sense of buy one service lifetime and then wondering if you should buy Unlimited with that lifetime sub included.
Lumo is kind of sad service. I just tried simple compare about Galaxy S26+ and Google Pixel 10. It said both are Andoid 13 and Pixel has 6,7 inch display. Very likely there was way more rubbish info but when I saw those after couple of other misinformations, I just removed the whole app. You can’t trust it to be correct in really simple questions. It is just worse AI that I have ever tried and it feels ridiculous that Lumo costs more than every other Proton products combined.
