Looking at Framework’s progress on software support for its repairable laptops

Framework has been known for lagging behind on BIOS and driver updates, in addition to limited Linux support, ever since its inception. After hiring a team from Comap, a white box computer manufacturing company, Framework is anticipated to release updates and bug fixes for its older devices more frequently.

I love that they added start/stop charge thresholds in their recent updates. That’s a must have feature in my opinion.

I need a new laptop and Framework looks really nice and is my current first choice, but I am so over the top miffed with just how poorly they and others provide EFI updates.
I really wish AMD and Intel would get their shit together and split it out and bypass the vendors and give proper 5-7 years of updates.

Big BIOS (AMI/Phoenix/Insyde) probably just wants their license fees.
