This article is an extensive review of KeePassium, a password manager for iOS and macOS.
If you need a password manager that gives you full control over your data, KeePassium is a fantastic option.
KeePassium offers some synchronization features, but keeps your password database offline by default. You can decide who you want to trust for your database.
It’s KeePass-compatible, which makes migrating from or to any other KeePass-compatible applications a breeze.
A big asterisk is that if you are in the Apple ecosystem only and only for those folks. I know its kinda obvious but I am only being pedantic. You are not wrong in any way.
But wow, what a comprehensive article/review of it. Well done!
Thanks! Indeed! This is why I mentioned it in the title and also in the cons. It would be great to have a version for Linux one day But for Apple users for now, it’s fantastic.
I still feel there’s little reason to use KeePass and its derivatives instead of Proton Pass because PP is just a more full fledged solution for all that it offers.
Awesome article Em, this is such a thorough review. KeePassium seems like a great option for Apple users, hopefully they get an audit for the macOS app soon!
I’ve been waiting for them to come out with a macOS app and I did.
However, because I bought a lifetime Strongbox a long time ago, I don’t see the point in switching.
But if I were a beginner, I think I would not hesitate to use KeePassium.
