Kaspersky has since communicated (link) that they couldn’t function in the US due to sanctions and had to sell and leave.
UltraAV sounds like a curious choice. The force installation capability is expected as AVs have higher than usual privileges. Some recommend to stick to just Microsoft Defender on Windows, than use AVs.

Anyone who knows what they’re talking about will recommend to stick with Windows Defender.

Indeed, they just provee that they WERE a national security attack with this forced installation of software. Its no different than a supply chain attack that install malware. Reading from ultraav comment in the article, I wonder if keeping kaspersky would have been a less troublesome choice
