Good on iVerify for being this issue to light. I expect Apple to fix this in the next update as they have shown a real focus on countering spyware from Lockdown Mode to attack notifications and now MTE built in at the SOC level.
Then again, if I were an evil consultant for Apple I would say not to fix it because then if the spyware infections cannot be detected they “don’t exist” for PR purposes…

Apple regularly warn people that they may have been hit by spyware. If anything, it is good PR for them to show they fight against this.

I agree.
My comment was merely a tongue in cheek shot at PR consultants. Apple taking spyware seriously is the main reason I have an iPhone.
