iShredder

Hello guys

I am wondering how to delete photos permanently from my phone and without a chance of recovery

I downloaded the iShredder Android app that’s in the play store. I am using the free version right now but might upgrade to the $20 yearly military package

The upgrade plan has 25 different wipe methods

Will this ensure that the photos are unrecoverable?

Is this a good app to use or is there anything better?

Does it really work?

No, it doesn’t really work.

The OS does not have direct access to the data on an SSD, there are several abstraction layers between it and what the SSD controller is actually doing at the physical flash memory level.

You kind of have to trust the OS that it’s doing what it’s supposed to be doing.
Factory resetting the phone should delete/make all data on the SSD inaccessible though by deleting the encryption keys.

“military package”…That sounds like a snake oil.
Instead of deleting, It might be even collecting your data.
I would delete that app.

Yes. Also if you want to maximize your chances of not recover at all your deleted data, you can factory reset your phone more than 1 time (for example 5 times). The more you factory reset your phone, the more it will be difficult to exploit its data.

This is false.
After the first reset the encryption keys will already have been purged.
Resetting a second time will not be any more secure.
