How to verify encryption in Matrix clients?

In most E2EE messenger, their is a way to verify the encryption by viewing the public key’s of yourself and the people you are communicating with.

But in Matrix client’s like Elemet X and Cinny, I can’t find it.
If someone knows where I should look for it, please tell me.

Maybe I am just to blind to see it, then sorry for the post.

And if its possible to view the public keys of servers, this would also be very appreciated

Not an answer to your question but I think some forum members are trying to get matrix delisted from the recommendations because of their awful crypto practices (I seconded those members)

If its not even possible to verify their encryption, then its so worse that Matrix should be delisted

  1. Open a profile
  2. Click on “Verify User”
  3. You send a verification requests that the other person needs to accept.
  4. Both of you get shown the same emojis¹
  5. If they match both of you need to say they match
  6. You have verified it.

1: For simplicity the encryption verification UI is with emojis instead if 5*12 numbers since it is less likely to make a mistake. This is only for the UI in the background it does not use emojis for encryption.
