How to sign up privately when vpns are blocked on sites?

I can confirm that VPN detection is increasingly looking at time zone mismatch lately. Streaming services that are very sensitive to VPN use are the latest one I’ve seen, where changing time zones on the device fixes VPN detection.

In this kind of situation, it can be more practical to use specific location residential proxies to by pass the restriction and protect/mask your ip, because residential proxies imitate normal home users country and it is harder to detect or fix the issue of time zone mismatch between your vpn and device

I have had a good luck logging in through the Anonymous View links on Startpage search.

If you have an Apple device, iCloud Private Relay is more anonymous than a VPN and never gets blocked.

Maybe like me you will have a server with a better repuation and it will not be blocked on the forum you wanna signup.

The fundamental issue that the JS implementation of all browsers in existence is far too permissive. The specification should have never allowed the sharing of system language, time zone, screen size, control over clipboard, and many other attributes without explicit permission. Firefox has settings to report spoofed values for many of these, but they are off by default since they somewhat affect the UX.

Thanks so much for this! This just saved me a ton of time trying to find a good server for switching my router VPN.

I did find this firefox browser addon does just that aswell
able to spoof timezone to whatever timezone it detects the ip address you’re connected to is in (i did test and it works fine)

It looks like a decently well-maintained web extension, thank you for sharing.

How would this work to hide your real IP?

ive known about this extension for a long time but wont it add to fingerprinting?

I’m surprised no one has mentioned SOCKS/HTTP proxies as a solution, nothing stops you from using a good residential proxy to sign up on said website where your VPN is blocked. The good part is that residential proxies are also very cheap.

Most of the time, Tor will be blocked if VPNs are blocked. But as other users said you could also make your own VPN server.

Depending on what you activate, in most cases, yes.

Could you provide links for residential proxies please ?

There are a lot of proxy providers, a simple search on your favorite search engine will allow you to find many, but if I may allow myself, I am the founder of Servury, a fully anonymous VPS and proxy provider platform, Servury would allow you to get a residential proxy without even providing your e-mail and paying with cryptocurrency.

What I had in mind was a VPS in a suitable jurisdiction, through which you route your traffic.

Could be an option.

But I see no real advantage that justifies the overhead compared to go to a normal VPN

A normal VPN is blocked?

Commercial VPNs are quickly added to IP blacklists. The point of running of running your own VPN is that the exit IP isn’t (hopefully) tainted.

will sites like reddit work fine with the data centre proxies on ur service? or will they get the account under a shadowban too
