How should I install LibreWolf?

Hello everyone, glad to be here.
Is Librewolf a valid alternative for browsing nowadays?
I’d like to have a variety of browsers: Firefox, Brave, and Librewolf.

But I’m not sure if Librewolf is still a secure and stable alternative.
My doubt is regarding both the version installable from the Librewolf repository itself, as well as from the Flathub repository
Can anyone share their opinion?

Thanks a lot, everyone.

Librewolf is fine just don’t use the flatpak.

Why? Thanks for your help.

I haven’t used Librewolf, but if one needs a hardened firefox, the gold standard would be Mullvad browser, and for maximum compatiblity, it would be firefox esr.

All sites are logged out when Mullvad Browser closes, so I would disagree with Mullvad being a gold standard since it isn’t suitable for average users who would need to log in every time they restart the browser

Why did you said this? Thanks

Mullvad browser isn’t the gold standard. It’s a different use case entirely.

  • Tor Browser: for people requiring anonymity but cannot change anything
  • Mullvad Browser: for people who want Tor-like protection but cannot change anything
  • Hardened Firefox: for people who want privacy but want to change settings and fingerprinting isn’t a concern

For that last case, either use advanced policies and user.js (reliable updates directly from Mozilla but requires regular maintenance setting up and updating) or a fork that does this by default. For the latter, LibreWolf makes the most sense.
