How can I easily buy a paid VPN in Russia?

A lot of countries ban VPNs, but I’ll focus specifically on Russia.
Russia is facing sanctions and is pretty much on its own financially speaking internationally. Also, a lot of VPN and payment companies have imposed sanctions or fines on Russia and pulled out of the market.

You often get blocked when you try to pay with VISA, PayPal, UnionPay and so on when you’re buying a VPN.
But for non-technical users who just want to use a VPN to enjoy the internet, dealing with crypto can be a bit of a headache, and they often don’t know what steps are safe.
Plus, sending cash by mail takes ages these days.

So, what safe and stable ways to pay are there?
Also, if crypto is the only choice, is there a way for non-technical users to safely get cryptocurrency in Russia and use it for payment?

If the option is available, sending cash by mail is my recommendation for non-technical users, although this is not necessarily Russia-specific advice.

I recommend downloading the Brave Browser, using the built in Tor capabilities to go to Mullvad’s website, open an account, get the details for cash payments, and send cash via mail.

That’s the simplest way because it’s analog and Russia should not be able to block this option. The hardest part here is getting the cash you need in the accepted currencies for you to mail.

If crypto is the only choice, it’s hard to say because unless you find someone to meet up with to buy with cash, non KYC, I don’t know how.

Is it possible to obtain any cryptocurrency in russia? If so you should be able to swap over Tor on Trocador for low fees.
