- You gotta pay for the hardware itself and all hardware maintenance coming with it, if it’s self hosting with your own hardware. Otherwise you gotta pay for the rented VPS.
- You gotta pay for electricity if it’s your own hardware
- If you are new, you gotta spend time learning what to do
- You gotta spend time maintaining the system
That’s not to say it isn’t rewarding, but it comes with other challenges. If things go wrong, it’s on you,
