[Guide] How to turn off Google Gemini from snooping on your apps

I posted this on Techlore[[Guide] How to turn off Google Gemini from snooping on your apps - Guides - Techlore Forum] and I thought I’ll also post it here:

Since July 7, 2025, Google opted everyone into their AI Gemini to be able to read your messages and access various apps on Android. If you still run the stock Pixel and are not on GrapheneOS or Calyx here is a short guide on how to turn the feature off.

Step 1: Find the Google Gemini app.

Step 2: Tap your profile picture in the upper right hand corner.

Step 3: Find “Apps” and navigate there.

Step 4: Turn off all the toggles that you desire. This will stop Gemini from having access. (Do this step before doing step 7, as doing step 7 will grey out the toggles.)

Step 5: Back out after turning off all the necessary toggles and tap your profile picture in the upper right corner.

Step 6: Find “Gemini apps activity” and navigate to it and turn it off.

Step 7: Now lastly, be sure to periodically check these settings to make sure Google hasn’t turned anything on without your consent.

Hope this helps y’all

Have a good one!

This is the annoying part.

This demonstrates that you do not really control the devices that has Google services in this.

I understand that not everyone can roll out their own AI but it maybe suitable to use other AI frontends. Google isn’t even good at AI at all and is shamefully late at the AI game despite its incumbency and influence in the internet.
